myHRTzone terms of use
Last updated: [DATE OF FIRST RELEASE]
These terms apply when you use the myHRTzone app and the myhrtzone.com website. myHRTzone is provided by [CONTROLLER: Dr Layth Bunni, confirm personal or company] ("we", "us"). Contact: privacy@myhrtzone.com.
By creating an account you agree to these terms. Please read them with our privacy policy: https://myhrtzone.com/privacy.
1. What myHRTzone is
myHRTzone is a personal record and reminder app for people using hormone replacement therapy (HRT). You enter the treatment your clinician has prescribed. The app keeps a record of it on your phone and reminds you when to take or change it.
2. Medical disclaimer
Please read this carefully.
- myHRTzone is not medical advice. Guides and answers in the app are general information only.
- myHRTzone is not a medical device. It does not diagnose any condition, calculate doses, or recommend, start, stop or change any treatment.
- Your clinician decides your treatment. Always follow your clinician's instructions and the leaflet that comes with your medicine. Check any change with your clinician or pharmacist first.
- Reminders can fail. Phones can silence, delay or drop notifications, for example after an update, in low-power mode, or if notifications are turned off. Do not rely on myHRTzone as your only reminder for anything important.
- What you record is only as accurate as what you enter. A summary you show your clinician is information you recorded yourself, not a clinical record.
- In an emergency, call 999 or 112. If you are worried about a symptom, contact your GP, NHS 111 or your clinic.
3. Who can use it
You must be 18 or over to create an account. You must give a working email address that you control.
4. Your account
- Keep your password, authenticator app and recovery codes safe. Two-step verification is required.
- Tell us at privacy@myhrtzone.com if you think someone else has used your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Health → Account and privacy) or at https://myhrtzone.com/delete-account.
- We may suspend or close an account that is used to attack or misuse the service. We will tell you if we do, unless the law stops us.
5. Your record and backups
Your health record is stored only on your phone. It is not in iCloud or Google backups. If you lose your phone and have not saved a backup file, your record is lost and we cannot recover it. A backup file you save is not encrypted, so you are responsible for where you keep it.
A "Show my doctor" link can be read by anyone who has it, until it stops opening after 4 hours. Share it only with your clinician.
6. Acceptable use
Do not try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get unauthorised access to the app or our server, or use it for anything unlawful.
7. The service
myHRTzone is free at present. We may change, pause or stop the service. If we plan to stop it, we will try to give you notice so you can save a backup file. Your record on your phone keeps working without our server, but signing in may not.
8. Our responsibility to you
- We provide myHRTzone with reasonable care and skill.
- We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, or decisions about your treatment, which are for you and your clinician.
- Because the app is free, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to £100, as far as the law allows.
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. App stores
If you downloaded myHRTzone from the Apple App Store or Google Play, the store's own terms also apply. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or for supporting it.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, if the change is significant, tell you in the app. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
11. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
